Center Series WVUniverse returns with "The Secret Lives of Black Holes"

Author:

The WVU Center for Gravitational Waves and Cosmology announces the return of their Center seminar series, WVUniverse.

WVUniverse connects general audiences with an expert scientist who can tell the inner stories on astrophysical topics like Gravitational Waves, black holes and more.

These talks are all audiences appropriate including fun quizzes with prizes.

The first talk of the year will feature Center director and associate professor of physics and astronomy (WVU), Dr. Sean McWilliams.

McWilliams is a Gravitational wave astronomer whose research focuses on understanding compact binaries, which are systems composed of any combination of black holes, Neutron stars and white dwarfs. He contributed to the first detection of gravitational waves as a member of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory scientific collaboration, or LIGO.

All are welcome to join us for this free, exciting talk!
