Will works in pulsar searching and pulsar timing. He is a member of the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav). Currently, he is working on follow-up timing of pulsars discovered in the Green Bank North Celestial Cap (GBNCC) pulsar survey. He is also investigating a pulsar in the NANOGrav dataset, PSR J1022+1001, whose pulse profile (light curve) is not as stable as is expected from most pulsars.
