Our Center

We span two colleges, with work organized into two over-arching research themes focused on transformative, interdisciplinary, high-impact astrophysics.

Mission: The WVU Center for Gravitational Waves and Cosmology (GWAC) addresses cutting-edge astrophysics problems that can be solved most effectively through interdisciplinary collaboration across physics, astronomy, math, computer science, and engineering.

Vision: The Center strives to be a world-class scientific research enterprise and an engine for educational and civic development in West Virginia (WV). We work closely with institutions throughout the state, nation and world, to provide science opportunities for research and students of all levels and to foster the continued growth of science and technology in WV.
